There are a number of locations where Informal Products can be used and created. We recommend that all Informal Products are created in a Self Managed Pricing Catalogue however you can click here to find out more.
1. To create an Informal Product, you can use the green [+] button from anywhere within the 'Informal Products' tabs.
2. Choosing a subcategory is mandatory. This is especially useful for reporting purposes.
Click on the [Edit] icon in the Informal Product pop up window.
Each category will have a number of subcategories. It is the subcategory that must be selected.
You can also search for the subcategory for example 'Bread' which will show you the parent category. Open this to find the subcategory you searched for.
3. Enter the 'Brand' and 'Item Description'.
4. Enter the 'Item Size' and 'Item Measure'. This can be thought of as the smallest unit that the item comes in. For example, for a 24 carton of Coca-Cola that comes in 330ml cans, the 'Item Size' would be 330 and the 'Item Measure' ml.
Other examples:
Garlic Crushed 2kg has a Item Size as "2" and Item Measure as "kg" but only if it is a single 2kg jar
Basil 1 bunch has a Item Size of "1" and Item Measure of "bunch"
HP Printer 1 each has a Item Size of "1" and Item Measure of "each"
5. Enter the 'Item Sell Quantity' and 'Item Sell Pack Name'. This describes in how many units does the product ship as. For example, the 24 carton of Coca-Cola that comes in 330ml cans, the 'Item Sell Quantity' would be 24 and the 'Item Sell Pack Name' carton.
Other examples:
Garlic Crushed 2kg | each of 1 has a Sell Pack Quantity of "1" and Sell Pack Name of "each"
Udon Organic Noodles 270g packet | carton of 12 has a Sell Pack Quantity of "12" and Sell Pack Name of "carton"
Cornflour Gluten Free 1kg bag | box of 5 has a Sell Pack Quantity of "5" and Sell Pack Name of "box"
